Our purpose is to glorify God by being and making disciples of Jesus Christ who are a community of worshipers on mission.
Our purpose is to glorify god . . .
We exist for the praise of God’s glorious grace. This grace is most clearly seen in Jesus as He lived the faithful life we could not live, died the guilty death we deserve to die, and rose again so that we can be forgiven and renewed to know and treasure Him above all things. Our goal is for the knowledge and praise of God to spread deeper in our lives and broader in our world.
by being and making disciples of jesus christ . . .
The gospel calls us to trust in Jesus and follow Him as disciples. We are to love as He loved and live as He lived, becoming more and more like Him throughout our lives. As His disciples, we are also called to make more disciples by proclaiming the gospel as well as teaching and modeling obedience to everything His Word commands.
who are a community . . .
God’s purpose has always been to create a community of people who know Him and show the world what He is like through their relationships with one another. The church is filled with those who are being transformed by the Spirit through faith in the gospel to become like Jesus, learning to love and serve one another as we have been loved and served by Him.
of worshipers . . .
The central purpose of the gospel is the restoration of true worship. As we trust in Jesus and what He did for us through His death and resurrection, our broken relationship with God is restored. We grow to value Him above all things and seek to honor Him in all things. Therefore, we are a worshiping community, always responding to His grace with thankfulness whether we are gathered or apart.
God is gathering people from all nations to find their joy and hope in Christ. We are not only saved to know Jesus, but to make Him known through our words and actions. Therefore, we recognize that we are all missionaries, called to join God’s mission of making disciples in our families, neighborhoods, communities, and workplaces, and among all nations.
THE GLORY OF THE TRIUNE GOD AS OUR HIGHEST AIM
Our highest aim in everything we do is to draw attention to the greatness of the triune God, bringing glory to the Father through Jesus Christ in the power of the Spirit. To that end, we encourage all of God’s people to live as priests who worship God by offering sacrifices of praise and service to Him as we gather together and throughout everyday life.
THE CENTRALITY OF THE GOSPEL IN ALL THINGS
The gospel is the good news of what God has done through Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection to restore sinners to Himself and to ultimately renew all things. We treasure this gospel and we want it to be central to all that we think and do as individuals and as a church family.
GLAD SUBMISSION TO THE AUTHORITY OF GOD’S WORD
The Bible is God’s entirely true and authoritative Word that we gladly embrace. Therefore, we value Christ-centered, biblical teaching that seeks to renew our minds and transform our hearts and lives.
GROWING IN CHRIST TOGETHER IN THE CONTEXT OF EVERYDAY LIFE
The gospel brings us together as a new family that is called to love and serve one another as Jesus has loved and served us. In order to provide the time for these kinds of rich relationships, our church life is intentionally simple and our leaders are committed to equipping all of God’s people to be active participants in the life of the church body.
MAKING DISCIPLES OF JESUS LOCALLY AND GLOBALLY
God saves us and sends us to accomplish His mission of gathering people from all nations to find their joy in Christ. Accordingly, we seek to grow as disciples of Jesus, spread the gospel for the sake of making more disciples wherever we live and work, and support missionaries around the world with whom we have relationship.
DEMONSTRATING GOD’S CHARACTER THROUGH SERVING OTHERS AND ENGAGING CULTURE
God created mankind to reflect His character, and we are restored to this calling through the gospel. Therefore we seek to understand all of life with a Christian worldview as we engage culture and serve the world around us for the good of others and the glory of God.
