All men and boys 13 and older are invited to our annual men's retreat to deepen relationships with the Lord and each other. We encourage you to come and connect with other men through conversation, biblical teaching, worship, and fun. We enjoy relaxed discussions over meals, competitive activities for all ages, ample time to enjoy the beauty of fall, and an atmosphere of unhurried friendship.

Theme: Perseverance is a Community Project

Building on our men’s ministry 2024 theme of Men in Community: Cultivating Manhood in the Church and Home, Chris McGarvey will explore how we persevere in the faith by means of community. As we share in Christ as brothers, we encourage one another to run with endurance by looking to Jesus. Teaching from Hebrews 12, Chris will accent the biblical call for men to live in robust community.

Our Speaker: Chris McGarvey
 Chris has served Bethel Baptist Church in Wilmington, Delaware as Lead Pastor since 2009. Chris was born and raised in the Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania area. He attended Wheaton College, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and then served for 10 years as an associate pastor at Grace Church of DuPage in Warrenville, Illinois. His ministry focused primarily on college students and training/mentoring men who were preparing for pastoral ministry.

Chris and his wife Beth met at Wheaton College while on the spring training trip to Florida for the girls’ softball and men’s baseball teams (that first conversation may or may not have included some batting tips). They’ve been married since 1996 and have five children and a dog. Chris enjoys dates with Beth, spending time with his kids, coffee, hiking, reading, Mediterranean food, hunting and fishing, Steelers football, and working with his hands.

Schedule & Location
 The retreat begins on Friday evening, Nov 22nd at 7 pm (check-in begins at 4 pm).  A pizza dinner is included and begins at 5:30 pm. It concludes Saturday evening, Nov 23rd, at 8pm. Light snacks will be available throughout the weekend.
